It's a tragedy that radon gas is responsible for over 20,000 lung cancer deaths in the United States annually. That's more than the combined deaths from falls in the home and fires. Thankfully, commercial building owners, managers, and some business owners can take steps to test and remediate the problem.
If you have employees, it's important to invest in their safety and your company's future. Fill out the contact form on this page to get started with a radon test or mitigation system installation. Show your employees you care and make the right choice! Radon and Vapor Intrusion Mitigation ServicesLifetime Environmental Solutions has proudly been in business for over 23 years serving our home state of Wisconsin and now the entire US! Our technicians are certified by the NRPP (National Radon Proficiency Program) and AARST (American Association of Radon Science Technicians) and have completed several very advanced courses at Rutgers University and the University of Minnesota. We are more than capable of taking on any commercial project no matter how large or complex. Our mitigation team specializes in what is known as sub-slab depressurization. Sub-slab depressurization is considered to be the most effective means of soil gas and soil vapor mitigation because it addresses the soil gas or vapor issue from beneath the building. Further, when proper investigation and diagnostic testing is done (prior to install), and efficiency is taken into account during system design and implementation, sub-slab depressurization systems can be extremely energy efficient and cost effective compared to remediation. Our commercial division is comprised of highly skilled, knowledgable, and friendly individuals eager to help your school or business take the necessary steps to achieving healthier indoor air. We specialize in radon mitigation, radon testing, VOC mitigation, vapor intrusion mitigation and more!
What is sub-slab depressurization you ask? The simple answer is that a relatively low negative pressure is applied under the slab of the structure. That negative pressure is designed to give the radon gas or soil vapor a pathway to the atmosphere, where it would be if the structure were not there, where it is highly diluted within the fresh , outdoor air. Without specially designed HVAC systems these harmful gasses and vapors are brought into the building through a pressure differential between the building and the soil. The mitigation system is essentially counteracting that pressure differential from beneath the slab, or sometimes at the source. This of course helps with both system effectiveness and energy efficiency as properly installed sub-slab depressurization systems do not draw (or draw very minimally) from the conditioned air space but rather draw the contaminated air directly out from underneath the structure. That is, you do not have to worry about continually reconditioning the indoor air (using your HVAC system) but rather one can generally use a relatively low amperage fan to address the issue beneath the slab, where the issue originates.

VAPOR INTRUSIONVapor intrusion occurs when chemicals such as VOCs, TVOCs and SVOCs produce potentially harmful vapor that rise from the soil and begin to enter whatever buildings are blocking their path. Similar to radon gas, vapor intrusion requires immediate attention to avoid any potential long term health effects for the occupants inside. Click here to learn more!
SCHOOLS, LARGE BUILDINGS, MULTI-FAMILY, AND HUD RADON MITIGATION AND RADON TESTING SERVICESYou may have seen radon mitigation systems before in residential properties as it has become commonplace to install them during real estate transactions. A radon mitigation system is basically a venting system that works with negative pressure to draw the rising radon gas from the soil out before it even has a chance to enter the structure. In commercial buildings such as schools, offices, factories, apartments and other large structures, the process is very similar. Click here to learn more!

COMMERCIAL RADON MITIGATIONRadon mitigation is the process of removing radon from a structure by achieving depressurization underneath the slab. This is done by utilizing a multitude of different methods., The main methods used for radon mitigation in commercial buildings are drain-tile depressurization and active soil depressurization (also known as sub-slab depressurization or SSD). RADON RESISTANT NEW CONSTRUCTION (RRNC)Radon Resistant construction techniques are becoming commonplace in new builds as more people realize the dangers of radon gas. Radon resistant construction techniques should be used in almost every new build. In most scenarios, it is much more cost effective to have radon resistant features built in during the construction of the property than it is to have radon mitigation performed after the building is finished. FIND OUT HOW EASY IT IS TO PREVENT RADON POISONING IN YOUR COMMERCIAL FACILITY!
Radon gas enters commercial buildings in the U.S. through gaps and cracks in the foundation, open crawlspaces, well and groundwater, and more! Though radon is naturally-occurring, it is the second leading cause of lung cancer, the first leading cause among non-smokers. That’s because radon builds up in toxic concentrations in enclosed areas like commercial facilities. It is colorless, odorless, and virtually undetectable. Find out how much radon is in your facility and get the radon mitigation you need to keep your employees and patrons safe by contacting Lifetime Environmental Solutions for a fast and easy quote.
